How

It all began

AdsWizz powers many leading digital ad-sale houses, publishers, music platforms and advertisers. If you listen to services like iHeart Radio, TuneIn, Absolute Radio, Digitally Imported, NRJ, RTL, Kiss FM, Antenne Bayern, Capital FM, SKY.FM, WNYC New-York Public Radio and Deezer, then chances are that you have already met us and been exposed to our technology.

 

It all began back in 2007, when one of Europe’s largest media houses tasked us to build a high-traffic news website that would revolutionize the way news is consumed, in particular by exposing video and audio content in ways unseen before. The website became a traffic hit, but back then neither online video or audio advertising was mainstream, and popular ad-tech companies like DoubleClick provided little or no video/audio ad-serving offerings. The growing audience base consuming audio and video online created a new challenge: How could that multimedia content be effectively monetized?

 

In early 2010, we developed a solution to serve one-to-one targeted ads to online radio listeners in a unique way through server-side ad-insertion.  This is when the company started to grow, much, much faster…

We started focusing mostly on audio formats, added an audio analytics component through the acquisition of WebMediaStats and entered into commercial agreements with major players in France, Germany and the UK.

 

Alexis van de Wyer joined the adventure in late 2011 to spearhead AdsWizz operations in the United States and by the end 2012, we successfully launched a global digital audio marketplace called AdWave.  In 2013, we saw the acquisition of major customers in the USA with further strengthening of our footprint in Europe, making AdsWizz the No.1 company of its kind worldwide.

 

Everyday we deal with unique technology challenges such as (massively) big data, real-time streaming media, high-speed transactions and exchanges.  And since we are in the global advertising business, we have also developed an international company culture that is a perfect blend of having fun while tackling the most advanced tech challenges in the industry.
