RDS will now monetise its digital audio inventory for the first time, utilizing AdsWizz full tech stack
Partnership will also see advertisers gain programmatic access to over 29 podcast shows and stations, reaching over 5 million listeners
Milan, Italy, 30 September 2021: RDS 100% Grandi Successi, the second-largest radio station in Italy, has signed an agreement with AdsWizz, the global leader in digital audio and podcast technology solutions, to monetize its full audio inventory via dynamic ad insertion. As one of Italy’s largest radio stations, this agreement will see RDS offer its digital audio inventory for the first time, opening up a host of new opportunities to advertisers.
RDS is leading in Italy and has over 5 million active listeners across its live radio streams and podcast shows. With the help of AdsWizz, RDS’s audio inventory will now be available to advertisers both directly as well as programmatically. Advertisers will be able to gain access to RDS’ radio stations and premium podcast shows and also make use of AdsWizz’ robust audience targeting options such as geographic, demographic, date, time, and weather targeting, allowing advertisers to manage and plan audio ad spend with precision.
The appetite for audio advertising is growing rapidly in Italy – 8.5 million Italians, mainly young people, listened to at least one podcast in 2020, growing from only 1.5 million in 2019. With AdsWizz’ advanced audience targeting capabilities, advertisers will be able to reach specific audiences while minimising wastage. This agreement between RDS and AdsWizz showcases the rapid innovation of the audio market and demonstrates how easy it is becoming for audio publishers to monetize audio inventory across both live streams and podcast.
Brieuc Verwilghen, Vice President Supply Partnerships, EMEA & APAC, at AdsWizz, said: “The audio industry is expanding at a rapid pace and our new agreement with RDS is indicative of the growth of the market across Italy. We are thrilled to add RDS’ premium inventory to our roster and aim to help streamline the process of buying and selling ads both for RDS and the advertisers that wish to reach their audiences via RDS content. Now that RDS’ popular content is available to advertisers, they will be able to unlock opportunities within audio and reach this highly engaged sector of listeners in a way that enhances the listening experience.”
